The Parasite

At first, while still young,
Longing dwells within the heart,
Gently pawing,
Nibbling at the inside of it.
As time progresses,
As Longing gets olders,
Grows,
It becomes stronger,
Sharps claws spring out
Of the once soft paws.
It becomes more painful,
As it scratches
And devours
The inside of the heart.
At last, when it is strong enough,
It slices it open
And kills its host,
Letting her bleed internally
Dying
From a broken
And empty
Heart...
